More recently, Bungie's move to become an independent studio led to the creation of the Destiny 2 Content Vault, an attempt to increase the overall quality of the game, but at the cost of much of the game's older content. The title's very first DLC, Curse of Osiris, was met negatively by both fans and reviewers due to a lack of content. To say Destiny 2 has had no shortage of controversy over its four-year lifespan would be putting it mildly. The player base remains healthy though, seeing a recent boost of new players on PC as Destiny 2's DLC became available on Microsoft Game Pass at the beginning of October. Bungie's action-MMO continues to be one of the most popular titles in gaming, with recent changes to Destiny 2's endgame multiplayer activity the Trials of Osiris bringing back many players who had previously stepped away from the game's historically messy PvP. Destiny 2players are voicing their displeasure towards Bungie's pricing of microtransactions and DLC.
