Once I restart again, I'm back to the black screen. When booting with Windows DVD and running a memory diagnostic, it restarts and tests the memory and then restarts again and goes into Windows with no issues. To be certain it's not a hardware issue like display, I installed a new HD, Windows and all the drivers and it works perfect.īut here is the kicker and I found this by mistake. I have scanned the MBR and came up clean. I have tried antivirus (it's obviously not a virus per se as it never even boots to run anything), I have tried Microsoft Startup Repair which finds nothing wrong. No hardware of software changes but when booting it shows a black screen before the splash and stays there forever. I have googled and searched and while I found many with the black boot screen issue, this one is completely different.Ī client's PC running Windows 7 Pro SP1.
